This year I decided to ride over to the Engadine and revisit some of the towns and villages where I had stayed on a school trip 50 years ago. The highlight of the trip was crossing the Albulapass in a thunder storm and hail which just added to the wildness of the mountain scenery.
I started the ride by following the Rhine route to near Scaffhausen before heading south on local route 53 up the Toss valley to Rapperswill. From there I followed part of the Lakes route to rejoin the Rhine route at Sargans. At Chur I then joined the Graubunden route to St Moritz.
