In 2005 I set out on my first ever A to B cycle tour. Rather than tour in my home country I decided to fly to Switzerland and follow one of their national cycle routes. The main reason behind this was to enjoy the stunning scenery and the ease of following a signed route. I picked Route 3 as being one of the less strenuous routes, but with 3320 metres of climbing some days were not that easy.

This ride took me along Route 3 - the North South route, with a diversion to the hostel in Zofingen. Instead of finishing at Chiasso I crossed the border to the beatiful Lake Como which was seemed to be a more appropriate location to end the ride.
